Earl Arnold, Sespe Flyfishers' past president and longtime education leader for the club teaches live in-person fly-fishing classes time to time through the Ventura Rec Dept and/or the Conejo Valley Adult Education. Below are listed classes available at this time.
The City of Ventura Recreation Department is offering two fly fishing classes in August.
One full day Saturday August 17, 9am to 4pm and one class over four consecutive Thursday evenings August 8-29 6:30pm to 8pm.
Both classes are six hours and cover all the basics for a beginning fly fisher.
We will cover recommended equipment and gear, knots, fly selection, casting, and fishing tactics for both still and moving waters. No gear is required. A rod and reel will be provided if you need it.
A class manual will be available for $10.
Class fee is $75 for Ventura residents and $82.50 for non-residents.
